On my blog, I share tales of the everyday and the ways I make it through my life – sometimes bedraggled and hanging on by a thread, but always with a smile on my face. I’m a big believer in laughter being the best medicine, and getting through the grind of every day, just one small positive step at a time.
Wanting it all is exhausting. But we do it to ourselves anyway right?
Whether we are single, loved up, married, cohabiting, parent, childless, career driven or dreamer, it can be a minefield living up to the standards we set for ourselves. And let’s face it, in today’s ‘social’ world comparisonitis, analysis paralysis and the perceived standards that other people set around us, every day.
I strongly believe that doing something every day to make yourself feel better is how to get through it, because deep down in your gut you know you gave yourself a little love, and that love catches on and spreads through you and through your life, sparking inspiration and confidence as it goes. Trust me, I’m living proof.
I also believe:
…that a good giggle really can cure all ills. Know yourself enough to know what might make you piss yourself if you laugh hard enough. then do THAT once in a while.
…that gratitude goes a long way. Saying thank you and being generous with yourself is one of the most invigorating things you can do. I’m serious, so try it.
…that life is too short for negativity and the grind.
…that friends and family are so important in getting through the daily bullshit – but knowing yourself, what makes you tick and what makes you smile (even if it’s only on the inside) is the real doozy.
…that working towards a healthier lifestyle really can shift your mindset (and seriously, ANYTHING is better than nothing).
…that the simple things can make us feel better. It doesn’t have to be hard. Change the sheets. Moisturise. Make a smoothie. Call an old friend. Order your favourite take out. Go for a walk in the sun. Take a break.
Who am I and how did I get here?
I’ve had a few life experiences that have led me to this point and I’m grateful for them all, good and bad. From love to loss to relationships, career and motherhood, I’ve been taught a fair few lessons, which I’m happy to share so you can get to know me better. What’s the Feel Better Collective all about?
I’m a working mama, about to enter my second period of parental leave. Motherhood has been the best and the worst for my self-esteem and been a real mental battle for me, from the moment I found out I was pregnant with my first child. It is BY FAR the most rewarding experience of my life and I never knew love quite like this until Frankie was born. But it’s also made me second guess myself in a way I haven’t in years. I’m 37, I know what I’m good at. Motherhood isn’t always it.
What I AM good at is ideas, energy, enthusiasm and momentum. I try things. I believe in change. And I have an infectious way of bringing people around to that point of view.
While on maternity leave first time round, I was able to spend some time thinking about all I have learnt, how it’s shaped me and the way it’s led me to the person I am today. I have been so nourished by the guides, coaches and mentors that I’ve been fortunate enough to meet in my life that I felt the calling to start to give back.
If I was struggling, so were other women like me. If they found it hard to galvanise themselves into action, then maybe I could help. If I could use my experience to really understand the struggles that women face every bloody day just trying to get through life, alongside my boundless enthusiasm then maybe I could actually make a difference. So Feel Better Collective was born and a Beautiful You life coaching qualification came not long after.

I want to help you quiet that voice of doubt and start small by doing something every day that makes you feel good. It’s honestly that easy, especially with me cheering you on.
